Transcription: henbane flowers from the last part of May through July and is found along roadsides and other disrupted areas from the valleys high up into the mountains. There is only one member of this genus in the Rockies and it is found in our northern states and into Canada. This plant is poisonous but seldom eaten by livestock or wildlife because of its strong odor and unpleasant taste. It is cultivated for its medicinal uses especially as a sedative.
